How does this letter-form communicate its location?

There are ever increasing pockets of local affluence as well growing expat communities in Amman. With mall culture from the Gulf also being here, albeit on a much smaller scale, trendy cafes and boutique shops are fast becoming the place to be seen. This image of a new branch for "Bun" opening in Abdali Mall shows the edgy design that is coming along side it - using typography like this isn't typical yet in Jordan but it's a gradually growing trend. In the central motif, you can see the letter "baa" above the "noon" - they have omitted the vowel (these are pretty much optional in Arabic anyway) and the I'jaam is cleverly shared between the letters.
