How does this letter-form communicate its location?
A stencil work metal sign by the harbour. Still using the tradition serif lettering style used throughout town but within metalwork therefore needing the stencil style to keep the lettering whole and stable when cut out of the metal. The joints in the stencil work correlating to the mouths of the fish to make the stencil style look more natural and cohesive. Reflecting the adaptability of the town and how we use what is given and make it our own. While it doesn’t completely reflect the quirkier side of Kilkeel the harbour shows in other lettering it shows how the town is a mix of traditional and quirky with the mix of serif and stencil.
