How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Makati is full of old condos and office buildings that not only retain their dated architecture but also their original logos/type. Located along Amorsolo Ave., the Gallery building signage uses a slightly retro-looking script type reminiscent of the 70s. With fat, curved descenders and stylized serifs, you can really tell that the establishment was built a few generations back.  Despite its rather outdated look, the type, taken with the equally dated architecture—and how it follows the curve of the building's arched windows—is a reminder of the city’s past and provides a welcome contrast to the more modern-looking establishments beside it. The weathered finish further adds to the nostalgic feel of the building and gives the impression that it has some stories to tell.
