How does this letter-form communicate its location?

This is the only fish shop here in Sandweiler. It is called "Poissonnerie ARCTIC". It was established in 1994 and has no had any sort of makeover since then. This is evident in the simplicity of the sign and typography used. The word "poissonnerie" uses a very elegant cursive lettering to represent the french word. France has been using cursive typographies since the 17th century. the choice of font gives the shop an elegant appeal. The next word used in the sign above the door is "Arctic" written in a giant bold serif font. To me this represents the angular features one would font in the arctic like icebergs and ice shelves. Their flag sign contains their wordmark and icon logo. the wordmark uses a simple and easy to read serif font touched in blue, making the wording very easy to read against the white background.
