How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Little Malvern Tollhouse. Although this is reconstructed, there is something about it and the way it connects us to the past that made me want to include it in my final five examples. I’d love to be able to compare it to the original too, but even standalone, it’s an important part of our identity and looking back at the way we used to live. There’s a few things I like about this – the uniqueness of the g’s and the fact that it looks like somebody different drew these (especially noticeable in the wird ‘waggon’ towards the top!), and the shape of the zeros and the numbers in general.
