How does this letter-form communicate its location?
The marking on the canal bricks suggests the history of Reading through the formations of the canal. The type used is a Sans Serif Gothic light weight font suggesting the ease of use for industrial applications rather than decorative use. The direction of the text, wrapping around the shape, suggests the Victorian Industrial look that Reading would have had before the modern gentrification of the area. It is interesting that every single brick bears the name of the manufacturer, like a permanent form of marketing your product.
