How does this letter-form communicate its location?
New First World War memorial benches were installed in the Durham area around 2021, decorated with artwork depicting Poppies and doves and bearing the words ‘Lest We Forget’ to honour those who died. The typeface is a modern, geometric sans serif typeface, and uses distinctive glyphs for the ‘W’, ‘O’, and ‘R’. Being one of the more modern/contemporary examples of typography in the area, it is significant that it deals with a subject matter to do with remembering and celebrating the history of the local area as this could be said to be a high priority and value of the Durham communities.
