How does this letter-form communicate its location?

The neon sign was first placed in 1939, one of the first external moving neon signs in Bristol, representing the famous ship RMS Mauretania. It was refurbished in 2018 and brought back to life after not working for the best part of 20 years. The sign shines brightly at the bottom of Park Street and bring enjoyment to the Bristol Citizens, with everything being shut currently it brings some happiness to people, with the colours and glow. There is something wonderful about the glowing gas and delicate tubes that LED’s just don’t have. The glowing colours light up a drab evening and the ship almost feels like it is moving. It is considered a Landmark in Bristol. This brings a combination of history to a contemporary sign with it’s bow lettering, with wide kerning but the spacing is not consistent which adds to the uniqueness of the letterforms.
