How does this letter-form communicate its location?
The pristine sans lettering above the entrance to the Oxford University Press building, which was built between 1826 and 1832, combines the historical architectural history of Oxford and the intellect of the University. It keeps the classic and sophisticated aura Oxford is known for, spotless and rich in culture. The simplicity and clear cut of the lettering also works for its directness, it doesn’t need to be flashy or fancy - as the building does all the talking. It compliments well without taking away from the architecture or being so modern or disruptive that it doesn’t fit with the entrance as a whole.
