How does this letter-form communicate its location?
One of my favourite finds this week – a tribute to John Bonham, best known as the drummer from Led Zeppelin, who I this week discovered was born in Redditch! On 31 May 2018, on what would have been his 70th birthday, this bronze statue was unveiled in the town centre. It was created by sculptor Mark Richards, and weighs over 5000 lbs.I just love the texture/layers to it – not sure how well this comes across on the photo but there’s something about this added depth that made me stop and study it, it feels like it has so much more character than had the writing been across one flat surface.
