How does this letter-form communicate its location?

I chose this London street sign and this font as I believe it currently best represents London’s streets today as it’s the style of sign that can be seen most prominently and often around Central London’s streets. The typography is a sans serif font, in semi-bold and capital letters. The simplicity of the font makes it extremely legible and thus effective as it’s goal is ultimately to inform it’s viewer of their location. The use of colour is also interesting and the way that the street name is in a different colour to the postcode and council, thus making the street name even more prominent.
