How does this letter-form communicate its location?
My second sign of choice can be traced back to the 50s and 60s; and clearly advertises what was once sold in the shop below. There are quite a few differences between the painted letter forms within the word ‘Tobacco’ and ‘Cigars’ mainly because ‘Cigars’ has been squashed to fit between two windows. This has resulted in the A having a very flat apex and the C and G having very small apertures which adds a certain rustic charm to the ghost sign. The type itself has a heavy weight and is quite wide, contrasting against the signs in the older part of the town.
