How does this letter-form communicate its location?
This Latin inscription engraved in stone is a thin serif typeface. Since it's engraved by hand you can see the small imperfections - the human touch, that I find beautiful. I took this example because of the beauty found in simplicity. Furthermore, there are also some patterns in the typeface architecture of various signs around that area. Both in the 'Opatička 5' example and this one, the 'horizontal line' on the uppercase letter 'A' is not straight, but rather breaks in the middle simulating a V shape. The lowercase number letter architecture is also interesting because they differ from the contemporary standard.
