How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Street art is a significant form of typography around Brighton and Hove. Huge murals can be seen by the station in Trafalgar Street and Kensington Street is known as graffiti alley. Due to the changing nature of graffiti, I selected a piece which was commissioned for Hove skate park as this should remain for a few years. It was done by the street artist Aroe who uses free from lettering and hand painted pieces. This feels closer to traditional “graffiti” without the use of stencils or projectors. The street art captures both the artistic and rebellious nature of the city.
