How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Gino’s in Makati is a local pasta and pizzeria. In keeping with their theme, they have a blackboard signage along the street, featuring hand-drawn chalk typography. The board is a mixture of script and block letterforms of different weights to show visual hierarchy. The hand draw execution gives the feeling that the restaurant is a friendly, homey establishment great for families and couples who want to enjoy good food and a relaxing ambiance. While I am not sure if the sign changes daily, you can tell that a lot of effort has been placed in preparing it—which adds to its charm.
