How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Only a few steps from D.L Lewis Chemist, I found a completely different typographic style: Blackletter, also called Gothic script, originates from Carolingian minuscule in the mid-12th century. The sign is on Wine & Mousaka Restaurant's entrance, that is an authentic Greek Cypriot family-run restaurant with a rustic interior and a traditional 15th-century Tudor building. The Cypriot family must have come to the UK a few decades ago, settled down in Ealing and chosen this charming location for their restaurant. They appreciated the history of the building, probably that's why they've chosen the medieval-style lettering to go with it.
