How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Sign marking the piazza within the recently renovated railway arches, located just off Deptford High Street. The letters are made of rusty metal, which might refer to the long history of the space, as the Grade II listed carriage ramp is the oldest railway structure in London, completed in 1835. Not long ago the area was very derelict, but today is advertised as the new home for independent shops, restaurants & businesses. To emphasize the industrial past a very basic type of stencil letters (probably Stencil, designed by Gerry Powell in 1938) has been used, bit of a cliché perhaps.
