How does this letter-form communicate its location?
I am really glad I spotted this one. You would only find it of you were looking for it. This is the last remaining evidence a shop even existed here. Now just a house, this cheeky sign is rather easy to ignore - or not even notice at all. There is a charm to this abandoned sign. The wooden mount is starting to ware and age, paint is starting to peel. The graffiti adds to the sense these letters are cast aside and neglected. The degradation and wooden material used offer clue to the age of the signage. They do not feel contemporary. These letters are typical of the ever shifting commercial fortunes of any city. Oxford is a hugely popular tourist destination. You expect to see souvenir shops. This business sadly has not lasted and now the location is a house.
