How does this letter-form communicate its location?
The green and yellow suggesting the link with the railway – Great Western having owned the station and its colour was Gold and dark Green – the slab serif font adds to this impression. The way that the sign states ‘est 1565’ in a script typeface suggests antiquity and in a strange way, the whole look of the sign being in disrepair with the phone number blotted out, along with the general area being run down adds to this antiquity although maybe decrepit would be a better word. It suggests a long-gone heyday.
