How does this letter-form communicate its location?
As someone who is born and brought up in Chennai, this is how I remember street signs to be for the longest of time. They were mostly hand-painted over a yellow background and were painted directly on walls or concrete slabs. Now the government is revamping my hometown and these sign boards have become very hard to spot. The most interesting part of the street signs here in Chennai was that they were different from one another and each of them had a unique look to it. Ever since the Smart City project came into play, all the transit signs have a uniform look to it, which I think has stripped away the charm of old Madras/Chennai.
