How does this letter-form communicate its location?
“Useful graffiti” is found all over Amman on walls and are usually instructions for who to call should you have issues with your electricity or similar. This example is made with a spray can and a stencil (I particularly love how you can see the shadowing created by this at the top and on the bottom numbers in this one) but often they are freehand. The chosen typeface is very generic and legible, similar to Adobe Arabic which I previously blogged about. To me, it sums up Amman as this information is rarely found online and should you have electrical issues, you just need to walk out into your street to find the number!
