How does this letter-form communicate its location?

This sign is very similar to the first apart from the pen markings. I chose this sign because I feel as though it captures the culture and the essence of London perfectly. The busy scribblings makes it harder to read the street sign, however, because of the bold nature of the typography the ‘Abbey Road’, the letters still come through the noise and we are still able to read the sign. The application of the typography on the sign looks like it’s been printed on somehow, it almost looks like a white board with writing on it which I feel like adds to the street-style look and feel of the sign and represents the streets of London.
