How does this letter-form communicate its location?

This is an overhead shop sign for a locally run sandwich shop. I chose this image for both its aesthetic and contextual elements. Visually I really enjoyed seeing a piece of script in Banbury, this script is thick and heavy in weight but has a bright sense of personality behind it, paired with the purple of the background this gives a strong sense of branding for this shop. However, in the context of Banbury Town I chose this as a homage to all of the cafe's in the town, most of which use a form of script for their branding. Cafe's now take up a large amount of the shop fronts on the high street in Banbury, due to the decline of retail. However from this sign, with its cracked appearance you can see how even cafe's aren't performing well financially, leading to the dishevelled look to this lettering.
