How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Social – This image may appear as more of a historical example, however, this street is one of the busiest in Belfast due to the visual impact which it provides. The typography here provides a background to create an atmosphere to socialise. People walk down this street and admire the typography, and talk about the visual nature of the signs. They don’t have to be type nerds to see that they are nice to look at. The slight changes in typestyle symbolise different identity choices by the individual councils. The kerning on Fort street being vastly different to Canning street creates a balance when placed together.
