How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Mural, spray paint. One of signs by Lionel Stanhope, Brockley based street artist, sign writer, and painter, transforming quite grim London’s historic railway bridges into landmarks. Typography matches the primarily Victorian architecture of the residential areas around, and its vintage character and 3D effect is related to the old cast iron rail signs, street names plaques, and signs. There are still existing examples of advertising and signs painted directly on the wall. Other artworks by the artist in the local area and those by Artmongers collective (Lewisham School of Muralism), makes the murals an important part of the identity of SE London.
