How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Clear, bold, 'typical' direction signs indicate this is central town. The '40' displayed proudly on the background building highlights a significance of the buildings themselves - important to Manchester's industrial past. The graffiti, updated and quirky street sign, and the free-flowing, hand-written style on the shutter, are examples of how creativity has taken over. The yellow/black lettering on the shutters emphasise it's message, with the Manchester Worker's Bee association. The old and weathered 'Rustica' sign shows the combination of old/new. Faded lettering suggests such businesses to be diminishing, in favour of newer ones that are responding to evolving surroundings.
