How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Planks of wood approx 2ft high by 8ft long line the pedestrian walkway along the prom. They act as temporary barriers to high tides over-topping the sea wall and flooding the public gardens and road. The boards are painted bright yellow and dark green, and each board has a roughly painted black number. There’s no special skill required, the numbers have to be a clear quick reference tool for maintenance teams. This example has two smudged lines above the number 9. This could be an accident or perhaps rough marks to indicate where the water level has reached?
