How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Hand painted sign on shop wall for an artisan bakery. The type here is contemporary with a san serif style and condensed blocky letters. The words are underlined and moulded round an image of a bakers wooden shovel. The paint finish has a grunge/stamped feel to it. The role of this sign is not specifically designed for tourists, it’s a popular cafe and bread shop for locals. It symbolises new growth of independent businesses in the area, which is a shift from the financial sector businesses typically associated with Douglas. The word Noa means ‘New’ in Manx language.
