How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Whilst the logo here is one of a popular UK department store, I feel this sign was integral to the feeling that Banbury gives of especially when this is one of the first buildings you see when you enter the town centre. I think this image perfectly summarises the demise of the high street and whats being left behind by these large businesses for the people of the town to experience. Visually, I love the way the metal of the sign is slowly leaving a trail of pigment onto the building as rain interacts with it, stamping its existence onto the building for even after the shop has left. Perhaps this shows the businesses intentions of their shop being a temporary part of the high street as they didn't manufacture signage that stands the test of time.
