How does this letter-form communicate its location?

The Walkers Books store is a renowned book shop in Stamford, which sits on Stamford high street. The visual appearance of the typography above the store is in an old style type style. This old style which is common around Stamford. The type itself is gold sitting on a wood panelling which gives the type a very traditional feel, further than the style being so. This contrasts against the contemporary type towards the bottom of the shop sitting on a white background.
