How does this letter-form communicate its location?
A contemporary printed sign using a serif font overshadows a historical sign. However, I don't know how historical this sign is. Interestingly, both businesses were in the same industry, indicating that the building has always been suitable for a salon. Although both signs use an uppercase, serif typeface, the historical sign has calligraphic elements prevalent in the 1920s. The new businesses haven't created their signage with a nod to the building's history. It's in keeping with the area's identity by embracing the old and not removing it entirely or covering it with contemporary signage.
