How does this letter-form communicate its location?
This bold serif font with an outline is very prevalent in this area. I particularly like this example as the missing letters comment on the current economic climate, with identity taking a back seat to rising living costs and how leaving the sign in disrepair changes the business's name. Although we can make out what it's supposed to say, it spells "erfec fre Chic n", which, taken out of context, is gibberish. This shows that we, as designers, can harness how our brain works to deliver a message as long as we provide enough context.
