How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Another casualty of the decline in British pubs, this is one of the originally two local pubs named the Glovers Arms. Originally a 17th century farmhouse, this was in use as a pub by the 1850s and was attached to buildings used as a small glove factory. At least two former landlords were glovers as well as licensees, which seems to have been quite common in this area. The pub closed in 2005 and has since been converted to flats. This fading pub sign sits at the front of the property, with the old cost of arms almost gone and text still just visible.
