How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Just down from the Elephant Free House, this antiques shop has a very different personality thanks to its signage. Almost apologetic in nature, its letters are spindly and uneven, with unbalanced kerning and a ramshackle aesthetic. Yet these qualities are also a strength – they suggest independence, a small-time dealer with a personal touch. One can picture the owner crafting the sign over a weekend in their garage. Though with light strokes, it appears to be a serif face, and the tittles on the capital Is are an interesting feature.
