How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Trajan seems to have been used here, or the hand chiselled font that Trajan is based on has been used for the Post Office lettering. This in combination with the gargoyle above gives a grand look to the Post Office which would have been a hub during its heyday. The typeface lends itself to having an air of importance and officiality. This is in contrast to the modern lettering that is placed above, the Sans Serif Bebas text of Yates – the old with the new, the change from strait-laced and purposeful to casual and partying.
