How does this letter-form communicate its location?
This photograph captures the all-too common reality of most of the UK's highstreets: lots of boarded up shops and (arguably unappealing) food outlets popping up to take their place. I like the juxtaposition of the bright, in-your-face kebab house sign against the plain, sad-looking shop front which has had its previous fascia torn down. The poster's design seems sloppy and purely functional to me. The fact that "coming soon" is printed in larger type than "kebab house" along with the vibrant yellows and reds, suggests the priority is to just convey the information to passers-by, and not necessarily entice them. While combining typefaces can have many positive effects, the mix of typefaces on this poster just adds to the loud, unorganised feeling.
