How does this letter-form communicate its location?

Some of the signage in Johannesburg is so faded its almost unreadable, with the paint peeling and the color fading. This type was meant to be big and bold and advertise a service, but over time, it has become rundown, much like the surrounding Maboneng area. The city buildings are old, and besides some apartments and old businesses, keeping the city clean and modern takes too long, as efforts are usually split and focused elsewhere. Luckily, certain buildings are being brought back to live using type and art and design, with color reviving the old a bit at a time.
