How does this letter-form communicate its location?
This was taken at an off-licence near my house that has recently shut down. The shop itself is boarded up and the signage has been removed and this the last remnants of the shop that I used to buy 20p sweets from after school. The sign is faded and has broken in the centre, which could suggest something that was once new is now the last reminder of a shop that is no longer there. It could be said that this is due to gentrification, however in this instance the area (Richmond) has always been heavily populated by affluent people. So this is more so a signifier of people moving on from their businesses, rather than people taking them over.
