How does this letter-form communicate its location?
This is a good example of the common use of an Old-English/ Caslon like font to represent the historical and richness of the building/area. I think it suits well in the style of a small local 'cotswold' pub, it's sat within a cute little old house with large and weathered windows, but it doesn't look dingy. I do wonder if this will continue to fit the aesthetic to Witney as it grows, it was once a quiet market town surrounded by cotswold land, however with growing population and surrounding burrows, we are beginning to cater to a large number of people and ‘local’ could be pushed out for the masses.
