How does this letter-form communicate its location?
Drawn by the inconsistent reflection of light from the letters, I was surprised to find that it was made with pieces of mirror embedded within light grey concrete upon closer inspection. The elegance of the roman english letterforms coupled with the shiny shards made Chop Chuan Hup stand out very much in an area that was filled with industrial-heavy and hardware related signages, and makes one wonder what industry the business operated in. The space is now used by a whimsical cafe called Wimbly Lu, with its signage located just below in a serif typeface in brass.
