How does this letter-form communicate its location?

In contrast to the first image, this was taken from an off-licence next to my office in Aldgate. This one has also closed indefinitely and parts of the name have been covered up by black bags. The type style is more modern and could suggest that this was either recently updated or was a slightly younger business. This shop borders Whitechapel, which is an area that is currently seeing a lot of investment, which arguably could be the reason why this particular shop closed. As this was a place I visited regularly, I always noticed that there seemed to be out of date stock on the shelves, which was unfortunately a clear sign that the business was struggling.
