How does this letter-form communicate its location?

This was one of my favourites, I really loved the broken type and insertion, you can still make out ‘Park End’ but it’s cut off enough to see they’ve specifically decided to leave this small piece of history within the brickwork, it’s been sectioned and purposefully worked around. It’s worn and rustic, like a token into the fabric of this particular corner in Oxford, it’s nothing flashy and you might just walk past it, but if you do spot it, it's obscure and abstract enough to make you go ‘huh, I wonder what that used to look like’
