How does this letter-form communicate its location?
WHSmith This is an image of the WHS logo carved in stone and placed at the top of the WHSmith building on Winchester High Street. WHSmith have been in this particular building since 1927. What I love about this typography is that it is a fairly modern piece of design which has been carved in stone and added to the building (not sure of exact date) and unless something happens to the building itself, it will always be a reminder that WHS was a business there. Luckily WHS is still operating today but with the decline of the high street, who knows what will happen in the future. To me, it feels that WHS is preparing for the future and hoping everyone will remember the history it had in this building.
