How does this letter-form communicate its location?
A prime example of lettering that really adds to the identity of Paris is the handwritten chalkboard menus that are used at most café-bar-restaurants, which are so integral to the culture of the city. These chalkboard menus are symbolic of Paris’ tradition of independent establishments that are privately-owned and have menus that change often - another act of opposition to large hospitality chains -, with the handwritten style adding a human element and creating the illusion of a connection between the consumer and bar owner.
