How does this letter-form communicate its location?
The ghosting on this wall suggests the origins of where the wall art/graffiti seen throughout the city centre began, constrasting starkly with the more corporate street sign. The distorted letters give a glimpse into an untold past. This was the only sign such as this that I could find in the area. Typography of the present is much louder, and more prevalent. Treatment of the letters seems telling of colour limitations - the range of fonts, and their placement over-compensate to make the message stand out, unlike newer messages on street walls where bright colours help to achieve this.
